Hey All,

I'm really sorry that we haven't been keeping up with this thing. I felt like we were doing well for a little while, but then it all just fell apart(technologically speaking)

March, eh? So much has happened since then. We put out a split 7" with our best buds Dig It Up, we did a tour with our good frineds Sister Kisser in May, played live acoustically on the Quebec equivalent to MTV, played the funnest set of our lives at the first edition of Pouzza fest, lost a guitar player, Cam, to Barnburner, who by the way released an amazing album in the late Spring, we're really stoked for him, then an amazing friend, Mathias, joined our band in August, then got fucked by hurricane Irene when we went down to play NYC, LI, and Boston and the rest of our shows got cancelled right as we got to NYC, played FWYS fest in Ottawa and it was amazing and played with some really good friends like Fellow Project, Raptorman, The Decay, Wayfarer, The Sober Dawn, Shared Arms, Dead Weightand some awesome bands like OFF!, Iron Chic, and Horace Pinker.

All this to say that it's been a tumultuous time but all good times. That's the point right? As of right now, Alex and Mathias are making their way back from FEST 10 and we're taking a little break from playing shows to write songs for a full length. We have about 7-8 songs as of now so we're off to a good start. The next show we have scheduled is Saturday January 28th for Pouzza Saturdays at L'esco. It's also our annual Alex's birthday show.

We have some pretty exciting news coming up and I promise that we will do a much better job keeping up with this blog. Thanks so much for all the support, we appreciate it immensely. Stay Rad!!

When we saw this, we didn't know how to react. A good friend of ours from Quebec City, Frank, got this tattoo of our logo a couple of weeks ago. This is HUGE!!! It's so humbling to think that your music means this much to someone. We saw the tattoo at one of the most amazing shows we have played. The show was with our friends The Sober Dawn, one of the best bands in Montreal right now, top 2 for sure. They did a cover of one of our songs, "Half to Black," and they did it way better than we ever played it. haha. Little fuckers. There was a food fight while both bands were playing, it was our buddy Tony's birthday, it was just an awesome night.

Fuck, the tattoo has me so perplexed. All of us in the band have band tattoos, so why should a band tattoo of our band on someone else be so weird. Does this make us a "real" band? I have no idea, as I said, i'm just so humbled and honoured and just want to say thank you for everything you've done for us Frank, it really does mean the world to us.

As for the future, we are excited to say that there is a bunch of amazing stuff coming up. We got the test presses for our split 7" with Dig It Up, they were all warped and un-listenable, but there are new ones on their way. We're playing some 1 show in April with our great friends Fellow Project from NYC, The Sober Dawn, and GSD from NYC.The show will be April 19th at L'esco, you should come out, it's also Dan Cesare (From The Sober Dawns bday) the show is going to be awesome. In May, we're playing Montreal on May 3rd with Laureate, The Decay and Wayfarer, also at L'esco, before we head out on tour May 14-22 with the always outstanding Sister Kisser on the road to Pouzza Fest. Please come out and support Sister Kisser. It's their first time in Canada, so let's show them some fucken hospitality, eh? (sorry, had to do it, fuck the border)

Slow on the Upkeep

Hey All,

It's now February 2011, we're waist deep in snow and there's still a bunch of stuff going on. You can't slow us down. haha. First off, the mastering is done for our upcoming split split 7" with Montreal's future legends DIg It Up which can only mean that there's the scent of fresh wax in the air. The record will be out in April via Pavones Records. You can stream the first song of our side here until February 11 at which point it will switch over to a Dig It Up song and you'll have to wait until the record comes out to hear the last two songs.

We're playing a benefit show this Friday, February 11 at Sala Rosa in Montreal to help out our good friends in Trigger Effect. The poor bastards had their van stolen right out of their driveway. They are without a doubt the hardest working band in Montreal, so come out and support them. Also playing are the awesome Barnburner (featuring Cameron from us) and The Holy Divide (featuring Joey, our old guitar player) It will be good times en ostie.

On March 9th, we're playing an acoustic show with Dave Hause (of the Loved Ones) We've never played an acoustic show before so it should be a lot of fun, you really should come out.

Let's fast forward now to May. We're are so fucking psyched for this. We're going to be doing a week long tour with our good friends from Long Island, Sister Kisser, one of the best looking bands in punk rock these days. The tour is from May 14-23, running through Ontario and Quebec, finishing at Pouzza FestWe will be playing some shows with Shared Arms, Unfun, and a pre fest show in Quebec City with Dear Landord and many others.

I don't know about those of you reading this who have dogs, but my dogs love the snow, so I'm going to go outside and play with them because they rule.

Dec 31,2010. Not to repeat myself, but 2010 ruled. Hard! 2011 is going to be even better. We already have a couple of shows booked, the first one being on Jan 30 with O'Pioneers, Junior Battles, and Hostage Calm at L'esco as well as some dates in March with The Sober Dawn. We got the first mixes of our new recording yesterday and they sound awesome. They will be posted very soon.

Anyways from all of us to all of you, thanks so much for your support, it means the world to us. All the best in 2011, see you on the road!

Thanks so much to everyone who has made this year a fucking amazing year for us. We had so much fun and made so many new friends that 2011 is going to rule that much harder. We have two releases coming out in early 2011, the split 7" with Dig It Up and the split EP with Tuesday Friday, we're really psyched.

We finished off the year with two awesome/hilarious shows with our friends The Sober Dawn. What a great band. The Montreal show was awesome, pretty packed and all awesome bands playing. Fucking, Bon Vivant, what an amazing band. Super nice people and ridiculously good music. Then The Sober Dawn, who, as a three piece now, put on such a good show that you if you didn't know, you would never suspect. It was great. Laureate have a hate/hate relationship with Barfly so they weren't too stoked, but they were awesome.

Quebec City was a total disaster for us, but a really fun show. First up was Panic Attack, who get better and better every time we see them, they're good friends and a great band. They did a cover of a Pinhead Gunpowder song, and Cartier sang it with them, it was rad. They are the ones who put on the show. If you play in a band and want to play Quebec City, contact these kids, they put on shows under the moniker Sick Scene
Then we played and had some technical difficulties. The first four songs, in order. 1- Karine lost the bassdrum, it went flying. 2- Karine shrunk. While she was playing her seat dropped almost a foot. 3- Chris broke a string with 10 seconds left in the goddamn song. 4- Cam's amp stopped working temporarily.
Regardless, we managed to get our shit together enough to finish out the set with a sing along to our defacto last song. So much fun.
The Sober Dawn closed it out with an amazing set, including a Face to Face cover and a Jawbreaker cover. That band is so good. We gave this mini tour 2 names. The everything falls apart tour and the Amour et Pain tranche tour. haha.

Big thanks to all the awesome people we met this year and the great bands we were able to play with. This won't be the last post on here for the year, but I'm in a great mood, so thanks for reading this and being a part of what Prevenge strives to be about. Good Times.

LAST SHOWS OF THE YEAR!!!!

Hey All,

I hope the arrival of the cold weather hasn't completely destroyed your interest in coming out to great punk rock shows!?! We are playing our last two shows of the year this weekend, one in Montreal this Friday, Nov 26th at Barfly with our good friends The Sober Dawn, Bon Vivant, and Laureate. It's going to be a lot of fun and we're all looking forward to it. Then Saturday, we're playing in Quebec City with The Sober Dawn again as well as our pals from up there Panic Attack which is a recipe for STOKE!!!! haha. I hope to see all of you out there and after that we'll be back in the new year with a couple of new releases including our split 7" with Dig It Up and our split LP with Tuesday Friday from Indonesia.

We have finished up recording and are slowly entering the mixing stage. The guy who recorded us is really busy, which is great for him, but we have to wait until the beginning of december to get started on the mix. Our split with Dig should be out by mid February, the perfect gift for your loved ones for valentines day.....

Winter is Coming

Fuck, it snowed here the day before Halloween. Seriously???? Ugh, I'm not ready. Anyways, onto more interesting things, yes? First off, we're going back into the studio on the 13th of this month to finish off our new recording which will yield 2 songs for our upcoming split with Dig It Up and 4 for our split with Tuesday Friday. It sounds awesome so far, so we're pretty psyched. Aside form that, the only thing we have going on until the end of the year is a wicked show with our friends Sober Dawn, Bon Vivant, and Laureate at the Barfly on Friday, November 26th. It's going to be an amazing show and we're really psyched. It's going to be the last time we play until at least February when we'll be doing a little tour with Dig It Up for the release of the split 7". So fucken psyched!!!

Speaking of Dig It Up, there going on tour with Montreal heathens, The Sainte Catherines, for the release of their new album. 10 days through Quebec and Ontario. If you get a chance, go to any of these shows, they're going to be great!!!

I hope to see all of you locals at both the ST4 and Dig show on the 12th of November and at our show on the 26th. It was a nice day out today, hope you got outside and took advantage of it. Thanks for reading this, it's appreciated.

So busy with life...

That sometimes things just fall to the side and get forgotten about. To those of you that check back and read this, I'm really sorry we've ben slacking on this thing, it's just sometimes life gets the better of us and, well, I'm sure the majority of you know what I'm talking about. Enough complaining though.

First off, we've played some awesome shows since the last post and finally started recording for our two splits coming up, a 7" with Montreal's wonderful Dig It Up and a split EP with Indonesia's TuesdayFriday. So far we're really psyched, Mountain View studio was awesome and it sounds amazing!!!!The engineer, Adrian Popivich is great. We're going back in on Oct 8th to finish up guitars and do vocals, and as soon as that is done, mixing, then mastering, then voila!! New recordings ostie, finally, right? haha.

As for shows, we got to play with 88n fingers Louie and holy shit was that amazing!!! The place was packed when we played which is a rarity for opening bands at Foufs and we sold out of every record we had brought to the show. Our split 7" with Horses is down to its last box which is exciting.

Then we played with the Dopamines which again was great, good turn out and good vibes always makes for a great show.
Lastly, but definitely not least, we played with the Swingin Utters and The Copyrights and we had a blast, both bands were amazing and there was a really good turn out.

Coming up we have some rad shows, we're playing Erin Powers bday party on Oct 10th with our good friends Attention(TO) and Pals, which is going to be the best, then 4 days later we're playing with Cerebral Ballzy out of NYC and Omegas and Naughty Girls. This show is at Death House and it's going to be packed so get there early enough to get in. In November were going to be doing a little mini tour with our buddies in Sober Dawn and Bon Vivant around Quebec and the Montreal show will feature the return of Laureate. Good times all around.

As busy as we all are, life is good. The weather is turning cold again so make sure you get your snowboards waxed and the edges sharpened.

So,

after driving 16 hours round trip to play a 15 minute set at Stock Fest in the middle of the Quebec tundra, we we're really looking forward to our mini tour with DS and Attention. Well, that whole weekend has been canceled unfortunately. Disaster Strikes had to cancel due to personnel issues and Attention ended up having their record launch the same weekend but on the one date that didn't work for any other band except them. As Jonno from Attention put it, "maybe the cosmos has pushed this weekend back for a reason." You know what, he's totally right. We've decided that we're going to do a pre production for our upcoming recording session in September. We're bummed about the tour, but stoked about recording some new and new-ish songs.

As for last weekend and Stock Fest, we actually had a fucking blast. Although we did only play a 5 song set(15 mins or so) we got to play with some of Montreals most amazing bands, holy shit!!! Thanks so much to the organizers for putting together such an amazing lineup. Bon Vivant, Sober Dawn, Solids, Videoville, and of course our good friends in Dig It Up. The vibe was so good and all of these bands were amazing. We even got to meet people that we had only met on the interweb which was rad!

We're playing next Sunday with 88 Fingers Louie so get out your oversized Dickies shorts cause we're going to rip it up!!! haha (by the way, I still wear Dickies shorts, thank you very much.haha)

Our condolences go out to Jeff, the newest member of Dig It Up, who at 4am Saturday night, found out that his Grandmother had passed away.

Hey All,

Sorry for the huge gap in updating this thing, summertime is really busy for us outside of the band, workers season, ya know? Anyways, we had planned on taking the summer pretty much off to write new stuff with Cameron(our new guitar player) and for half of June and most of July that's exactly what we had done. The beginning of June, we went Stateside again and played a couple of shows in the Northeast with our friends Rumspringer and Sister Kisser. Great times, regardless of the gooch and torrential downpours and flooded basements. haha. Such awesome bands and great people.

The weekend of the 24th of July we will be heading up to Malarctik in Northern Quebec for Stock Fest with our good friends Dig It Up. It promises to be a lot of fun. A 2 day music festival in the middle of Nowhere. We're psyched.

Then comes August.... We were initially supposed to be recording the first week of August for our upcoming Indonesian release but we decided to push it back until the end of September. I promise new music soon-ish. haha. That being said, we're now playing 6 times in August.

Life Is Good

Holy Shit!!!! We just got back from Rad Fest and had a blast!!!! It was so much fun, we partied and hung out with so many new people and saw so many great bands. The guy who organized it, Chason, did such a good job and from a participant point of view, it went off without a hitch. A major highlight for us was when we got to play the Rad Fest Motherfucking All-Star Party!! Leatherface was denied entry into the US(booooo) and as such, their spot as the headliner on Saturday was replaced by bands chosen by the promoter and other bands to play 2 or 3 songs apiece. We played right after our buddies in the Sainte Catherines who lent us their guitars and bass. It was epic, Freeman, the singer in a band called Freeman from Richmond came up and became our lead singer even though he didn't know the words to our songs and Alex had a Spinal Tap moment where he fell backwards and couldn't get back up and Jay from Nothington came to his rescue. Good times. haha. Thanks to Too Many Daves, The Slow Death, The Anchor, and Red City Radio for lending us gear, without you, we wouldn't have been able to play. Also, Star News Online ran an article about Rad fest and made a list of the best names at Rad Fest and we made the list. haha.

Rad Fest was also the last show with Hugo and we can't thank him enough for filling in for us. We baptize our new guitarist this coming weekend with two shows in Montreal and Quebec City with our good friends Dig It Up and our old friends Party at the Moontower. They're going to be great. I'm really trying to update this more often, I'm sorry. Before we head back down to the states in June, I will update this with more really cool stuff!?!

Jason Jessee. Again, awesome skater, motorcycle builder, and artist. Has led a fucked up life, but has always remained true to his passions which is something really commendable.

Mike Muir. Lead singer for Suicidal Tendencies. ST saved my life when I was a kid and I'm still a SUYCYCO Por vida. I have the ST logo tattooed on me, done at the ST Tattoo Studio in Venice, CA.

Hey all,

We just got back from an amazing 4 days with our good friends Horses and Fellow Project. This weekend is the reason everybody should play music, the chance to travel with like minded people who are passionate about what they're doing and having a great time doing it. Thanks so much to everyone for coming out and making the shows so much fun, and of course a Huge THANK YOU to Horses and Fellow Project. Good Times!!!

Also, the schedule is up for Rad Fest and we're psyched to be playing with some amazing bands. Before that though, we're playing the record launch of our good friends Trigger Effect on April 29th at Katacombes. This band rules!!!! Check them out and support the shit out of them.

Long time no speak!! We have a bunch of stuff coming up that will be awesome. First off, a couple of downers. 1.Joey Quit. He wants to play metal, so he joined a metal band. We hope it works out for him. 2. Because of Joey leaving, we have had to push back our recording for the split with Tuesday Friday from Indonesia until this summer, which sucks, but when it comes out, it'll be awesome!!! Filling in for Joey until RAD FEST will be Hugo Belzile from Whiskey Trench(he rules) He's only playing with us until then because he and Karine have 2 beautiful babies and it's too complicated to try and organize a band around constantly having to have someone to watch the kids, so we're extremely lucky to have him until then.

On a wayyyyy more positive note, we have a bunch of amazing shows and releases coming up in the next few months. Shows first. Horses are back!!!!! We're doing 4 days with Horses and NY's Fellow Project, April 1-4th, in Montreal, and Ontario which are going to rule!! After that we're playing April 28th with Trigger Effect for the record launch of their new album. Then it's off to RAD FEST in North Carolina in May which is going to be out of control. Hopefully you'll be able to get tickets and come party with us and all of the other bands that are going to rip Wilmington a new one. After that we're doing a couple of dates in the northeastern US with our friends in Rumspringer from Arizona in June, playing another crazy fest in Northern Quebec called Stock Fest IV in Malarctic in July and then a string of dates through Quebec and Ontario in August with Disaster Strikes again, Good Times.

In regards to recording, we will be hitting the studio this summer to record a song for an I Spy tribute, the split with Tuesday Friday, and a 4 way split, double 7" with Dig It Up, Junior Battles, and Attention. It's going to rule!!!!!

Belated Happy New Year and all that....

I hope 2010 is shaping up to be a great year for everyone, so far we're pretty stoked. An Indonesian split release is in the works with a band from Indo called Tuesday Friday, which will also see a Japan release and maybe a North American release, we'll see. We've also confirmed some dates with Disaster Strikes in Canada in August and we're working on making our way down to the states to do some dates with them in the spring, end of March, beginning of April we'll b playing some dates with Long Islands Fellow Project who are an awesome band and awesome people that I've known for over ten years.

For the moment though, we're gearing up for a mini-tour with our good friends Dig It Up. We're doing 4 shows with them starting Jan 21st in Montreal. These shows are going to rule!!!!! We're so stoked. We're going to be playing with our budddies in Junior Battles, ASL's new band, Former Haunts, and of course Barrier and Laureate, as well as The Flatliners. Hopefully we'll see you at at least one of these if not all of them, they're going to be that good. haha. All the best in 2010, 12 months of good times!! Hans is gone and Karine is back in, destroying the drums as she's apt to do. We are taking a small hiatus to get back in the groove with Karine but don't fret, we will be hitting the road in January for a small Ontario tour with our buddies in Dig it Up. In the interim, our record will be out within the next two weeks on Juicebox Recordings on a donation basis. We are just waiting on the final artwork from Ed Trask, who some of you may know as the drummer for the legendary Avail. Get outside before you have to wear a skidoo suit just to walk the dogs. Last Show With Hans

Hey All,

So, it fucking snowed here today...Rad? I think not. This country is really stupid for that. Anyways, now back to the news.

So for those of you who don't know, we had a drummer called Karine(middle) who had to leave the band last December due to the fact that she was pregnant(she played her last show at 5 months pregnant, crazy right?) She and her longtime boyfriend, Hugo from Whiskey Trench now have their second child, born in May, Zack and she is ready to come back. We were fortunate enough to get the awesomeness that is Hans to play for us while Karine was "busy" with the understanding that if Karine wanted to come back, he would step down and let her come back to her rightful spot. Like a man of his word, when she told us that she wanted to come back, he took it well and we laid out some last shows with him.

That being said, we''re playing our last show with Hans(bottom) on November 8th with Shook Ones, Make Do and Mend, We Are The Union, and Laureate at Underworld in Montreal. Please come out and show your love for the man, the legend, HANS... haha.

We will start playing shows again in the beginning of 2010. We're looking at the weekend of January 29th in Montreal and the 30th in Toronto to coincide with Alex's 25th birthday. You will definitely be kept in the loop as to what's going on. Speaking of Alex(top), he's heading down to the Fest and I know firsthand that he will be at the Junior Battles show as well as the Dig it Up show and you should try to find him and say hello.

It's almost time to put the skateboards away and take out the snowboards, but it's still cool to be outside!!!!

No Ska Parts 2009

This post goes out to Die Brucke, Disaster Strikes, and Dig It Up. Three bands full of guys and gals that are relentlessly laying it down, city to city. None of these bands fall short of delivering the goods, and they're some of the nicest people anyone could ever have the pleasure of touring with! Go see them in your city and I promise you all good times.

Now, back to the nitty gritty.

A killer weekend was had by all! The shows all had great turnouts and the bands just all fucking ruled. Die Brucke reignited their fire after a one and a half year hiatus, converged from three different cities, hopped onto all three shows and killed it! Unfortunately the hiatus is back on again, but something tells me they'll be back. Disaster Strikes (Boston) brought their brand of hardcore up north for a change to serve up some really infectious riffage: head-nodding & the mosh ensues. Dig It Up didn't come along for any long drives with us, instead they just stole the show at Barfly in Montreal. If you're from Montreal and into punk rock in its many guises, this is a band you really shouldn't miss. Can I get an Amen?

Oh! We went bridgejumping! The DS guys had one mandate on this tour: to get to Wakefield, ON, and a 40 foot leap into the Gatineau River by way of a covered bridge. I highly recommend it! Christine & A.S.L. brought us to the spot and took a few of photos too, so I'll try to post the best ones as soon as my grubby little hard drive gets its hands on em!

Thanks to everyone who came out to these shows and set us up with a place to rest our skulls. Best weekend ever.

As all of Ontario descends upon Montreal to return to school, driving me fucking insane, we're heading to their glorious province with Disaster Strikes for the next two days. Tonight in TO and Sunday in Ottawa. Last nights show in Montreal was amazing, fucking Dig It Up destroyed!!!!!!! and Disaster Strikes always bring the ruckus. Dig It Up are the nicest people too, we are very stoked to have finally been able to play with them. We hope to see you at one of our shows this weekend, they're announcing nice weather all around so there is no excuse to not come out!

September's here and I hope you've all had a rad summer. Ours has been fun as hell!!! We've been playing a lot and we're not stopping. If you missed the show on the 22nd, then you're a fool. Junior Battles destroyed as they always do and the show was a ridiculous amount of fun which resulted in us all playing topless and running around like we thought we were Avail.

But don't fret because this weekend we're playing three shows with an Alternative Tentacles band Disaster Strikes, in Montreal, Toronto, and Ottawa. There is no excuse to not come to one of these shows (attn: hippy Steve). These are the only shows that Disaster Strikes are playing in Eastern Canada this year. Also, on the Montreal show is Dig It Up, Alternative Press's September '09 "Unsigned band of the month" and they fuckin' rule. The other two shows we'll be playing with Die Brucke, which features Lachie from Horses playing thrash. Good times all round.

OUR 7" IS NOW AVAILABLE THROUGH INTERPUNK! Either go to Interpunk and search Prevenge or Horses, or click this link and buy it! If you're in the US it's cheaper to get it through them than through us. It sucks, but for us to mail a record to the US it's considered International and therefore obviously more expensive, right? Right. Bullshit.

By the way, apparently we're a good live band. Check out the blurb about us by Jon Cummins that showed up last week. As usual, stay off of your computers and go outside, skateboard, rollerskate, ride a bicycle, motorcycle... anything. Just get outside. Stay rad!!

Hey everyone,

Sorry this has taken so long, but life being what it is.... Our split 7" with Horses is finally out!!! It's a limited run of 500 on 2 different kinds of splatter vinyl, courtesy of our friends at Pirates Press. The easiest way to get a hold of it is from the bands, or you can wait until it gets into the distribution bloodline. We have a ton of shows coming up in the next couple of months with some great bands and friends like Junior Battles, Disaster Strikes (Alternative Tentacles), Dig It Up, and more.
